I think I have managed to do a better scan. The photo is so damaged it is hard to copy

I've managed to lighten it a bit, but can't do too much as a lot of the original details are obscure.

can you rescan at a higher resolution. This has been scanned at a very low 72 dpi and needs to be at least 300dpi to see the details better.
there is a tutorial at the top of the board if you need it

When I scan at 300 the photo is too big to post .. what should i do ?

Thank you so much Terry ...It's a huge improvement. Would it be too much to ask to remove the feathering/fading. It is my grandfather and his brothers and has a special place in my album and the feathering (even though its really nice) just wouldn't look right.
