Hi,
I'm desperatly searching for these families for months :
Thomas Halliday, 25, born in Cumberland
Deborah Halliday (formerly Pratt) , 25, born in Birtley, Durham
Thomas, 7, born in Lanchester, Durham
Maybe William (not sure), less than one year
They lived 43 High Conside (Conside & Knitsley, actually Consett) in 1854
In 1881, their son William appeared as born around 1861 in Port-Clarence (or Billingham in 1891 !)
Richard Pratt, 62, born in Sedbusk, Yorkshire
Isabella Pratt, 51, born in reeth, Yorkshire
William, 19, born in Birtley, Durham
Isabella, 14, born in Lanchester, Durham
Richard, 12, born in Lanchester, Durham
They lived 239 Berry Edge (Conside) in 1851
Their daughter Deborah (who married Halliday) lived 43 High Conside in 1854 (see before)
Their son Isiah, 26, lived 52 Consett in 1861 with his sister Mary A.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice
Best Regards
Gregory Halliday

Hi Gregory,
I have been researching Isaiah and Deborah Walton of Reeth whose daughter, Isabella bapt. 11 Sept 1810, Grinton, Reeth married Richard Pratt of Sedbusk, in 22 Nov 1827 in Hawes, Yorkshire. In Isabella's brother Thomas' will he leaves her money, calling her the wife of Richard Pratt of Consett Iron Works, County of Durham, Labourer.

Hi Gregory
Did you want both families in 1861?
Thomas Halliday and family are at ref RG9 Piece: 3732 Folio: 9 Page: 11
If you don't have access let me know.

Hi
It looks like Isabella Pratt re married by 1861 to William Hall Soulsby, still living with them are William , Isabella and Richard Pratt.
Ref RG9 Piece: 3732 Folio: 33 Page: 61
I will see if I can find the marriage for you and the death of Richard.

Yes looks like this is the marriage.
William Hall Soulsby married Isabella Pratt, 1855, District of Newcastle upon Tyne, 10b 80
So we need to find a death for Richard between 1851 and 1855 unless of course they divorced.

Here goes although to be definite you would need the death certificate
Death of Richard Pratt 1855 Q3 Durham 10a 105
Isabella married in Q4 of that year.

Hi Evie,
I dont know if Gregory appreciates your hard work but I surely do!! ;D I am related to Isabella's brother, Thomas Walton, who was transported to Tasmania in 1820. If the death for Richard is the correct one, Isabella didn't mourn him for very long. Although to be fair what else was a woman to do back in those days to support her children - not many options.
