Samuel Davis b 1837 (I believe) and christened in 1841 St Johns, Liverpool (parents Thomas and Elizabeth).
I am a little confused with this ancestor! Firstly his age, it seems to change here and there.
While born in Liverpool, he eventually lands down in Bristol, I believe married to Sarah Ann. I thought I found their marriage, but it stated 1875. So I could be barking up the wrong tree there.
Her maiden name would be Pullen.
The children they have in the 1881 census:
Albert b 1869, Annie b 1873, William b 1876, Fred b 1878 and James (Jas) b 1880
The children look like they are born all over the place too.
I am trying to find him in the above census records mostly to make sure I have the right info and the right family as their son William Davis b 1876 appears to be my Great Grandfather. (On his marriage info I found his father is listed as Samuel.)
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Oh that looks promising redonyt!! I did wonder if perhaps she had been married before.
According to the info I have - the daughter Annie is born in Merthyr Tydfil in 1873 - she is however listed as Davis. Maybe they got married after?
Thanks so much for that!

I think you've got the right people. ;D
I started out with the 1881 census, indeed Fred and James are there - Fred born Bristol, James born Birmingham (apparently). The father says he is 39 there - but I am thinking that the original date of 1837 is correct as in 1891 he would have been 54 (45 back to front?). Oh bummer, I just noticed that the birth record I was looking at was for "Davies"... :-\ Ok, so perhaps he was born in 1841 after all. (Back to looking)!
The info on naughty William makes sense then as well. He later went on to be a 'dock labourer'. Must have learned a thing or two! Some of his own children (my grandmother and her siblings) - they had 2 Alberts (one was a twin and died), William, James and my gran Violet's middle name was Sarah. (There are lots of others too).
And the marriage one - yes, I'm definitely sure the PULLEN lady is the right one.
I just saw your latest post regarding Samuel remarrying... wow...could well be. Ooooh... the plot thickens!
