Title: William BASTIN of Exeter

I'm looking for any help on the birth/baptism of one William BASTIN, as well as his marriage.

From census info I know he was a whitesmith and engineer. I have no record of his baptism, but his birth was c. 1812 in Exeter.

I know he married Elizabeth SHAPLEY around about 1830, but also I have no details of their marriage.

Their known children were:

William John BASTIN - baptised Heavitree 1831
Ellen BASTIN - baptised Heavitree 1834
Elizabeth Anne Shapley BASTIN - baptised Heavitree 1835
Emma BASTIN - born Bristol 1840
Ann BASTIN - bapt Bristol 1841
Charlotte BASTIN - born Swindon 1845

Any help/suggestions appreciated.

How do you know mothers full name ?

I take it that you have their mothers full name from an original birth certificate ?

the reason I ask is there is another poss marriage in the right time frame but to an Elizabeth Payne at Kenton nr Exeter on the 10 feb 1829 ?

Thanks but I think this is a different i.e. family William BASTIN and Elizabeth PAYNE, rather than William BASTIN and Elizabeth SHAPLEY.

Yes to confirm, I have Elizabeth SHAPLEY's maiden name from her daughter Charlotte's birth certificate in 1845.

   There's this one also  Aylesbeare is about 7 miles  from Exeter

PPL1962 are you interested in Ellen Bastin's descendants. She married William Seagar on the 14 November 1854, Stratford Bow, Middlesex. They had 11 children and emigrated to New Zealand.
