Any dates? any more details? ('Co. Down' is a fairly large area) The more information you can give us to start with the easier, and quicker, it is for us to help you.
-
When was David born approx? There are 3 David Macks in Co Down in 1901 census and many Margaret Armstrongs in 1901 and 1911 http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie
Ros's site may also be helpful to you http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rosdavies/
-
There's an extracted birth for a child of a David Mack & Margaret Armstrong but the OP needs to provide additional details.

Aghadowey beat me to it, the familysearch.org lead, led me to noting
Ros Davies Co Down has a few entries for Mack’s of Annahilt
On the other hand the main David Mack who had land to farm in 1860’s was a David Mack living in Ballymacarn North in the civil parish of Magheradrool which adjoins Annahilt civil parish. Also in the civil parish is Ballynahinch itself. Perhaps Margaret went to a church in Annahilt
Ros Davies website has details of church records and more see http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rosdavies
https://www.emeraldancestors.com has
2 marriages
1887 David MACK m Priscilla MACK Downpatrick Down
1898 Thomas XXXXXX m Priscilla MACK Belfast Antrim
So do supply more detail soon

Hi,
In 1847 there will be no birth certificates as civil registration of births did not begin until 1864. I also think that 1847 and 1881 is an excessively long time between siblings... or have I misunderstood?
Regards

Records at PRONI might yield some clues:
Correspondence of the Mack family of Ballykine, Co. Down, including letters from Glasgow and Pennsylvania, 1854-1896.
The reference for above is D2244.
PRONI also have the will of Andrew Mack, Ballykine, who died in 1894.

The Macks in Ballykine are traceable through Andrew Mack of Ballykine Lower Magheradrool Down in 1863, who has two separated areas of land that included House Offices and land , the first is map reference 10, with 11 acres 30 perches the second area at map reference 11, of 17 acres and 20 perches, The two areas are separated other map areas Nos 12 and 13.
In Map reference 10 Andrew had a substantial house and buildings which had a rateable annual valuation of £2 ten shillings. Others in the townland were as low as just 5 shillings. The website www.askaboutireland.com in its Griffiths valuation section has the ,means to look up map references 10 and 11 in Ballykine Lower
Topographically Ballykine Lower is an interesting townland its tenants are all divided by land divisions which are all set running roughly NE
The map ref 10 shows his property is divided by a road running NNE through it which ends up southwards at the junction of Tweedys lane ends and on the south west side another road with a bridge caseys bridge on it . One building is set in the west of the dividing Road, 3 buildings are set in east side in a cluster there appears to be tree planted in parrellel lines. On a modern google map the place to look is at 3 Ballycreen Rd Ballynahinch, Down BT24 8TZ and above. The other road that includes Caseys bridge appears to be the `Lisburn Road
On map ref 11 he is the landlord and has 4 tenants, Andrew Ferguson has the biggest garden the others small, John Ferguson, William Douglas and Eliza Anne Massy , They share whats looks like a row of cottages and a seperate blg. The land runs SE from Tweedys lane ends and the top of Riverside road to the sw where its border is the Ballynahinch River.and looks on a modern map to be mostly redeveloped. So thats where he lived, how to link up his family history is the real challenge
Good luck JImG
