In what country is Nore House? ;D
And, do not put email addresses in your post!

just getting used to this site not familiar with it. Nore house in Portishead near Bristol England on the Avon and I am trying to contact anyone who was there at that time 1956 .I would also like to know how I can get to reply I live in Australia and it is so much easier if I can contact people by email but I can get used to this Ann Vaughan

I grew up in Portishead! (Which is on the Bristol Channel, and not the River Avon! ;D ;D)
When we looked at this 2 years ago, we couldn't find where any records were kept?
But there were some replies on the old thread - maybe you can share memories?
Otherwise maybe someone should set up a Facebook page, or something on FriendsReunited?
RootsChat is deliberately an open forum - meaning that all posts are available to Google, Bing, etc.
That's how most of us found it! :D
But it does mean that it isn't secure from spammers and identity theft. ::)
The PM facility should enable you to contact others - or try a reply on the other thread?

Hi
My mum used to be a cleaner at the home in the late 60's and i went along and played. i remember the rooms with cots in and the large hall with all musical instruments in, outside there was a climbing frame shaped like a ship. i have a photo with some of the children dressed up in fancy costumes and one particular girl called lorna, i can post the photo or e mail it if anyone is interested.

Hi Sarah
Welcome to Rootschat ;D
We have a 'no living people' policy here at Rootschat so please don't post the photo or publish your email address.
However, once you have 3 posts, people can contact you by personal message if they are interested, you can exchange emails that way and then send the picture to them off-forum.
Please have a look at our help page where this is more information on our 'guidelines for posting' and using the 'personal message system'

I have received a potted history of Nore House, from Sandy Tebbutt of The Gordano Society.
I have attached it, in case it is of interest to people.
