Hello
I am trying to save a record on Ancestry.  tTe only option is to save it as a PNG image.  This comes out as a completely black box when saved and although I have opened it with Paint to try to convert it to a JPEG, it only shows as a solid black box.  Help Please?

I've had that problem if I right-click on the image and "save as". However if I use the "Save" button at top right, then "save to your computer" it seems to work OK - it saves as a JPG file

Thanks for asking that question!

I've had a couple of these lurking in my downloads for months - always meant to do something about it - save worked a treat!

The reason is not the format of the file you are saving but what you are saving.
If you use the right click "save as" option you are saving the background image (underlying image), on many sites this is simply a back or a white page.
In such cases always use the provided save button.

If there is no save button use the print screen option from your keyboard or if you have multiple screens use ctrl  + print screen
