Title: Men who served on Mars (ship) in WW1
Post by: snoons on Wednesday 20 August 14 15:26 BST (UK)
I'm trying to find out if a William REYNOLDS served on "Mars", possibly when it went to the Dandanelles (WW1).
Also, where would I look for Scottish service records?
Any help greatly appreciated.

This link will help - http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/

There are no separate records for Scots.

If he was in the army they were files according to date of discharge. Up to 31st December 1913 any surviving records should be on Findmypast. Between 1st January 1914 and (about) August 1920 they are on Ancestry. Apart from the two-thirds lost during a WW2 bombing raid. If he was still serving after 1920 they are still with the MOD.
