I finally found the death I was looking for. Yes on the NSW BMD Online upgrade - website.
The only reason I found it was because of Lady Di - she said she had to reduce the screen to 75%, so that she could see the 'search button'. Thank you. :)
I wish to purchase this death record. I have the option of .....snail mail or email. If I choose email will I get a photo copy of the record or a transcription?.
PDF is unavailable.

A transcription costs abt $20 from one f the 3 agents . I've always got these are email file attachments
Copy from the Registry cost abt $33 . Check their web site to see the format
Also suggest you check in State Records Archives Investigator to see if who ever left a will and in Ryerson for any newspaper notice
Bye

Emilyos,
I have used a transcription agent a few times.
The NSW BMD Registry are now offering to send records by email. Reading the information on their 'Updated' Website the email option is something new.
So I was wondering if anyone had purchased a record and received it by email - what form it came in.
Anyway I have decided to spend my money and have asked for the record I'm after, to be sent by email. :)
No sucess finding it in the Ryerson Index. I'll have a look in the State Records for a 'will'.
Thanks

Hi Sarra,
Just butting in to mention that there is a gap in the probate records on Archives Investigator for death/probates between 1890 and 1928 - for probates between these years you need to search the microfiche at the SRO. I had this pointed out to me not long ago.
If in gap years I can look it up for you next time I am there.
cheers,
Ros

Hi Ros,
There you go ........... I was under the impression that the complete NSW Probate indexes were in in Archives Investigator . There is a nearly 40 year gap !!
I have the complete indexes on fiche at home ......... Hopefully my fiche reader still works

Hi emilypos
Yes when you read the probate info carefully, it does mention the gap but I had missed this for years
Well we all learn more as we progress
Cheers

I just broke my golden rules of number 1 ,2 & 3 TO NEVER ASSUME. It will come back and bite you
It just did when I read your comment and said to myself ' I didn't know that' and then actually checked out State Records Probate index info . Oh dear
Bye

Yes Emilypos but in our defence ;D it is such a weird gap that you would think that they would fill it in soon. So easy to overlook this gap.
Well once we are aware then we can adjust ;D
cheers,

People should also be aware of the Culling in Probate Records By The Supreme Court.
The Probate packets from the late 1960s to c.1983 were culled by Supreme Court staff a number of years ago. As a result of the culling Probate packets may no longer contain copies of the certificates of valuations of real estate, valuations of furniture and effects, valuation of motor cars, and correspondence from solicitors, banks, share brokers, and insurance companies.
The cull was premised on the removal of the documents which were primarily considered to be Stamp Duties Office documents rather than documents required by the Probate Office (and where the original was held by the Stamp Duties Office in the Deceased estate files). The number of Stamp Duties Office related documents still included in the Probate packet/files varies from file to file.

Thank you all for your input.
Could not find my person of interest in the State Records.
Guess I will have to wait for the Death Record to arrive by EMAIL. :)

I don't resize the screen but use the tab button to find the search button at the bottom of the screen

Sparrett,
Many thanks for your hint of using the Ctrl key with the mouse wheel to change the screen resolution. It works for me on the NSW poorly designed new website.

John
