I have just discovered this site. What a wonderful, helpful bunch of folks!
I've got a tintype that may be my third great grandfather. The back is black and the material is slightly thicker than some of my other tintypes. As I understand it this may mean it's an earlier picture.
This picture was taken in Texas. Would anyone be kind enough to take a stab at dating it? I hate to be pushy, but if any of you talented folk could clean it up, I would be very grateful.

Regards date, I would put around 1870's by the clothes style.
