hi
looking for a marrage of john mcelwain and esther byers killinkere co cavan ireland,
-
I had a look in Seafin Presbyterian Church records as both surnames appear in the marriage records. However the marriage you are searching for is not listed. The register commences July 1846, could it have been before then? Another church with similar surnames which might be worth checking out is Bellasis Presbyterian Church.

Reward for any information on this marriage

Some approximate dates would be helpful.

This post may refer to the same couple but we do need more details to be sure of posting details of the correct family.
"My grandmothers name was Esther(Elsie) McIlwaine
b. 27 Feb.1902 d.22July 1986.
She was born in Coolnacola, Cavan County. Coolnacola I beleive is a section of Balieborough in Cavan.
Her parents were John & Esther(Byers) McIlwaine. ..."

Yes but iam looking for there marriage record.
-
Yes, and 1911 census gives number of years married which you can use as a guide for searching the civil registration index.
-
Yes I have done that but can't find any record for them also the year on the cences record may not be rite as there first child was born 2 years before that.would be uncommon to have children them times out of marriage. Can't understand why there is no record as it is some time between 1880 to 1886 .
-
1911 census says married 22 years and eldest child in household is age 20. 1911 minus 22 years is 1889 so that's the period you need to search first.

Have do this but no trace

Check out Generation 2 on the link below of David Byers Family Tree. David lives in Belfast and you can send him a message, I'm sure he knows what church John and Esther were married in.
Regards, Les :)

Thanks but have done this and he was unsure of this information. Was it common for marriages. Not to be recorded at this time.
