Title: Canadian emigrants
Post by: Sallyann17 on Tuesday 12 August 14 13:46 BST (UK)
My half uncle emigrated to Canada when he was 14 in 1912, I understand there was a project of sending poor children or orphans to Canada at that time, can anyone shed any light on it for me?

Hi

Perhaps the Home Children?  There is a search on this page that might turn up his name.

If you google 'home children' there is plenty online about it

No problem

Was he on there?  the 1921 Canadian census might catch him too - what was his name?

I haven't found him yet, I do know he emigrated in 1912, and I have found him on the 1921 Canadian census, his name was Thomas cuthbert palmer.
