Good morning Ladies and Gents,

Asking for some help with a gentleman in my family tree with whom seems to have no back ground.

Name of Albert Edward Stanford
death of 13th July 1947
West Tarring / Worthing area
At the time of death he was the landlord of the George & Dragon pub in Tarring.

Married to my great grand aunt - Dorothy Caroline Stanford (nee Norris).

Apparently  he had a son before this marriage who died on sick leave from HMS Hood before it was sunk by the Bismark ???

Trying to find anything thing I can about him. I don't have much apart from potentially being born in Layton in 1888, although this is not confirmed.

There are quite a few family trees on Ancestry concerning Albert.  It appears he was married before Dorothy & had a son, Alfred Charles Stanford in 1925 who died in 1943.  Let me know how much information you already have so I don't duplicate it,

Have you got the marriage cert?
Then at least you would have a fathers name for him.

They had a son called Denis, I have one of those tree's on Ancestry but am unable to find out any 'true' links and anything else is just pure guess work.

I can't find anything about his previous marriage or what happened to Denis, all I have is a picture of their wedding. Not even the pub have records showing anything or pictures.

Its all a little 'open' really!

No I don't have their marriage cert, in was about 1936. All i do have is their wedding photo. My grandad was present but as he was so young can't recall anything
