Title: Can anything be done for my Gran Jean Baker?
Post by: Adrianne on Wednesday 06 August 14 10:43 BST (UK)
Hi everyone,

I think this may be a difficult one but would be wonderful it's possible. :)
This is my gran, Jean Baker. We have no formal photos of her other than this one when she was a bridesmaid, age 32. Unfortunately, it was printed on some weird paper :-\ and when blown up a bit it becomes like this. My family and I would love if it could be fixed. What do you think?

Best regards, Adrianne

How about trying to scan it again without blowing it up - just scan but put in a very high resolution for the scan if the photo is small - try 800 for example - if that makes it too big/more than 500kbs,   reduce the dpi very slightly and try again - keep doing that until you are as high a resolution as you can but get under 500kbs for posting.

I don't know if it will work, but it might - it is tricky at the moment isn't it.

Meantime - I wonder if this will work - a very quick try.

Hmmmm - not really very good - sorry.    :-\  Removed.

Wiggy      :)

Hi Wiggy,

Thank you so much for having a look. I scanned this photo into the computer nearly 10 years ago, so it may take a while for me to find the original again. This is only a small section of the original. My original scan included the mounting board and that doesn't have the weird effect on it. Here is a small section for comparison. I think I may just be stuck with it like it is  :(

I have been wondering what to do with some of my own wedding photos on textured/pearly paper, I'm capable of removing a few blemishes but when I bring the photo's up, looks like sparkly confetti all over  ... I should start another thread to ask for advice  :-\ haven't spotted anything amongst tutorials, perhaps someone can point me in the right direction?

:) mare ... sorry for hijacking your thread Adrianne!
