I visited St. Cuthbert's at Corsenside last week. Most beautiful situation, and I was hoping to find some old memorial inscriptions for my Forster family, two of whom, both John Forsters, in their wills, had requested burial within the church. The floor is now concrete, so nothing to see underfoot, but I wonder if any memorials were noted by anyone before the floor was repaired, I think c.a. 1914? Any ideas where I might find the information. I've emailed Northumberland Archives, but haven't had a reply yet.
Kind regards, Shirelass

Northumberland archives do have Monumental Inscriptions for Corsenside from 18th to 20th century but I don't know if it specifies which are in the church and which in the churchyard. There is an index of surnames.

Many thanks Christine,
I'm sorry for my late reply, been away for a little while. I've just received a microfiche of the monumental inscriptions, so need to have a good look at it, but a quick glance didn't reveal anything on either of my two John Forsters buried inside the church.
