I am trying to find a william holland born rawcliffe bridge i think around 1890's
any info on his family and military would be great, from all accounts he served in ww1 and lost a hand
cheers
-
What else do you know about him? What makes you think he was born Rawcliffe in the 1890s?
-
I have a CD of Rawcliffe St James baptisms and your William is not on it.
However, there are these 3 baptisms which may be of interest :
Charles William Holland s/o William, a dredger boatman & Annie 8 May 1921 abode: Rawcliffe Bridge
Kathleen Holland d/o William, a dredger boatman & Annie 22 Jul 1925 abode: Rawcliffe Bridge
Iris May Holland d/o William Edward, a labourer & Annie abode: Rawcliffe Bridge.
There is a baptism on family Search for a William Edward Holland in nearby Goole 25 Sep 1893 s/o Alfred & Elizabeth.

there could have been a brother h holland and william was definitely in raw bridge during ww1
-
Where is your information from? Being "in Rawcliffe bridge" during WW1 does not necessarily mean he was actually born there
What documents do you have which confirms his birthplace etc?
Who did he marry?
What is the full name of "H" Holland
If you are descended from one of his siblings - then please give full info of that sibling to help us find the right person
-
Hi, William Edward Holland is shown as being in Rawcliffe Bridge aged 17 years.
Frank.

This could be him, from what i have been told william had a son george holland around 1910, can anyone fine him?
-
george holland i have been told is on the 1911 census born in 1909 in rawcliffe bridge, can someone please show me this census

1911 look ups are not allowed.
You could buy a few credits and have a look at the 1911 entries yourself.
It is highly unlikely that the single17 yr old boarding on the farm would have a two year old child with him.
In order to find the correct family we do need some more definite, confirmed info about the man you are researching. Where have you found him, and what do you know about him that has been proved? How does he link with any of your family?
-
The George you mention was the son of a Charles and Eliza, not a William!
We ask for further details of who exactly you are connected to, etc. because the facts you are giving so far aren't adding up.

As explained above - 1911 lookups are not allowed due to copyright issues so see following instructions. They do not give you access to the image
USING THE FREE 1911 INDEX TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT HOUSEHOLD
http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx
Once you find a possible match - make a note of the county and district in which the person was living
Return to the index and in PERSONAL DETAILS - just put the surname of the family - nothing else
In LOCATION - Select the county and below it - type in the district
In OTHER MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD - show the full name of the person you have found on the index
Click SEARCH
The 1911 census is strictly pay per view so you will have to buy credits to view the full entry - the above instructions will only help to possibly show others of the same surname in the same household
You can check birthplaces for free using GRU
