I would be grateful if someone could look up the name BLAKEMORE in Pontesbury for me to see if any people of that name were listed on those censuses.

Just had a look at my cd's for Shropshire and found the following:

It is very hard to read the pages as it is very faint.  Hope this is of some help to you.

It seems ironical that you, living in Canada, are proving my main source for Shropshire records!  I am very grateful.

Yes, these seem to be "my" people.

I wonder could I ask you to look up your cd's to see if you can find any record of a JONES family (or families) at Pitchford, or Pitchford Park or Condover?  I don't have any names at this stage.

Thanks for all the references.  I have printed them out and am in the process of comparing them with more recent censuses.  Let's hope they bear fruit!

I have come across the name Hotchkiss in my research, but I'm not sure if it was in Shropshire.  Still, it appears to be a fairly unusual name - which is always useful in family history research (not like Jones!).

Glad to be of help. Yes, Hotchkiss is not a very common surname. But it can get spelt lots of different ways!!  It seem very common in the county of Shropshire.

Hello Anne

I was just glancing through some of my old messages, and I noted that you said your family was Hotchkiss from Shropshire.  It turns out that there are quite a lot of Hotchkiss folk connected with my family in Shropshire - I only discovered that recently.

These appear on the family tree of one of my cousins, of which I have a copy.  Maybe they are your people?  Im not quite sure how we can check - perhaps yu can give me some names and I can see if they are on the tree?
