Could someone please look up SARAH HAUGH nee MURRAY in the Canonbie MIs. She died around 1756 and I'm having trouble finding her grave. Thanks Janine

Janine,
I shall have a look to see if they have Canonbie MI's when I visit the library. There is always the possibility, there was no headstone, which means it won't be mentioned in the MI's.

Thanks cupcake. Howard M has certainly done a lot of work photographing all the tombstones. I'll wait to see if Sarah is actually there before I go through the photos in detail ::) Cheers J9

Hi Janine
I have had a look in the Canonbie Graveyard Memorial Inscriptions but no detail for Sarah Haugh or
Murray. There is an entry for a Mary Haugh who died 1874 perhaps she is from the same family.
OPR Deaths and Burials Index for Canonbie only lists 1786 - 1805 and there are no entries for Haugh but several for Murray.

Lucy,
Was going to the library, tomorrow, to check on the MI's - but you have kindly done this.
She may still be buried there, just no headstone. 1756 will be too far back to check on the layers list, also you would need an exact date of their death.
I have tried all these in Annan, to find my 3xGrandparents death & burial place, with no joy.

Thanks Lucy and cupcake. Sarah has been a mystery for a while, but you have given me a bit of a lead with Mary d. 1874. I'll chase her down and see if there is a link. Thanks again both of you. Janine
