Gaetano (Tony) and Caterina MAZZITELLO were killed on a pedestrian crossing in FiveDock on 2 February 1967. Unfortunately TROVE does not have digitised newspapers for that period so I'm wondering if anyone can help with a death/funeral notice or a news report.
They had two young daughters so PM of the names would be great.
(I have their NSW BMD reg numbers.)
Thanks for reading, Judith

Hi Judith,
I can't find funeral notices but I have found a news report.
A 21 year old student was charged with negligent driving as he ran them down on a crosswalk and was doing about 50 mph
Hang on and I'll pm you
cheers,
Ros.

So sad for all concerned, she was only 20 and the student who ran into them about the same age. :( Perhaps as they were Italian there wasn't a death notice in the ordinary papers.
Many, many thanks, Ros.

Hi Judith
I was dreaming about my grandparents last night who sadly I never got to meet. Are you related to Gaetano and Caterina Mazzitello?
I'm their grandaughter, I'm the daughter of Aurelia.
I believe mum has the newspaper article.

SMH 18April1967 pg8 http://www.rootschat.com/links/01gaw/ (see page 5 in this link, left hand page, middle, bottom of page) "For trial in road death case"
Local papers would probably have reported the accident too.

Has anyone searched "La Fiamma"?

Hi all. Am away in uk at present. I am not related to the family at all and was asked by a workmate to put up the original post.
I won't be in touch with this workmate for another 3 weeks and I just hope I remember to tell them about this extra information found by cupoflife and the suggestion from martywillis -thanks, guys. I can't even remember the connection of mjy workmate to the family. ::). My brain cells seem to be disappearing fast 8)
Caterina, if you do another post around the 7th of November that will jog my memory to ask my workmate. :)
Cheers, Judith
