Seeking birth, baptism, marriage information about James Baddeley who died in 1838 (registered at Congleton, Cheshire). He lived in Rushton Spencer parish in Staffordshire and, apparently, was publican in Cheshire, maybe Staffordshire. His will mentions his father in law, Richard Mitchell. Thanks.

Hi
How old was James when he died? Cheshire BMD have him as Baddiley but no age shown
Found this on FS but don't know how it fits with his birthyear

Thanks - that looks very useful. I'll follow it up. Sorry, I don't know the age.

If he lived in Rushton Spencer - that was in the Leek registration district so any death would be there - not Congleton

His will mentions his father in law, Richard Mitchell.
What year is the will dated?
There is an 1840 death in Leek on freebmd for a James Baddaley but it may be an infant death as Staffs BMD have an entry for that name showing age 0

Good Afternoon

They had the following children

John 16.11.1808 Astbury

His burial on Familysearch gives a date of 9.12.1838 for his death and burial 12th December James Baddeley of Congleton formerley of Rushton Staffs at Astbury Cheshire age 74 and therefore born 1764.
There is a baptism at Astbury 27 June 1762 to William and Hannah Baddely which is not too far out.
Possible siblings - William 6.10.1754,Joseph 29.1.1758,Samuel 11.5.1760 and Henry 16.6.1771.
Hope that helps

Hi
Love Gwatkins but can't get out my way. It's a special trip to Leominster or Ludlow. It's Westons and Knights in my local with the occasional Dunkertons on special occasions.
My local Wetherspoons has got a cider festival on so I'm off down there after this.
All the best
