Sorry, I searched for it so I can put the word 'Complete' in the subject line of my posts... can't find it. ???
Thank you.

Look at your thread ...
Your name is on left - in line with that is ...
The topic title in the centre - in line with that is ...
The modify button on the far right beside the 'quote' button .....
BUT you are only able to modify your headings and content for 24 hours after posting. After that, contact a moderator who will do it for you. I presume the modify button disappears after 24 hours which is why you can't see one.
This is one of the newish changes to rootschat and has been around for about a year or so. I think the reasoning is so that people don't go back over their posts and alter them so that any replies no longer make sense. I can see the logic in that, but it does give the moderators more work to do, and prevents small alterations such as adjusting spelling errors which did come in useful if noticed over 24 hours after posting.

The guidance notes ask you to use the "Report to moderator" button, and ask a mod to COMPLETE the thread for you! ;D

Here I thought I'd read the rules & regulations so carefully! I'm such a newbie on here! The last thing I want to do is make work for the moderators. But if that's how it's supposed to be done, there's no choice.
24 hours, then the modify button disappears. Ok, I'll remember that.
Thank you so much for responding!

The bit about making work for moderators is purely my opinion - I do not know what moderators think about it. ;)
At least you know that if you want to make any changes you've got to be quick. :)
Don't worry too much - there are many of us who have been on here for years and still don't know all the little ins and outs of the site.

Thanks, Ruskie!

Please use the 'report to moderator' button whenever you have an issue with a topic, either because it is completed, as in this case, or where you think there are other problems such as email addresses, living people, copyright etc
It's not too much work or trouble ;D
