Title: Help with an inmate in an unknown Irvine institution on the 1911 Census
Post by: blue_evertonian on Tuesday 01 July 14 06:56 BST (UK)
Hi,

I was looking for a Daniel Cook in 1911 and found him as an inmate in an institution in Irvine but the scanned page doesn't reveal any information as to WHERE or WHAT the institution is!

Here are the scan details off ScotlandsPeople:
1911, COOK, DANIEL, M, 65, IRVINE, GROS: /AYR   595/00 013/00 004

And here is the scan:

Can anybody help me on this?
Thanks!

Hi

There should be a 'View Free Header' button above the image. Click on it and  it will give you info on the Enumeration District.  I think it might give you the information you need.

With Gadget's guidance, may be this one here? www.workhouses.org.uk/Cunninghame/

I did a project on the Cunningham Combination Poorhouse and I had already downloaded all the census returns from 1881.  On further checking this evening (I downloaded the header)  it is indeed the Cunningham Combination poorhouse.  See attached image.
