Hi Louise,
Just by chance I was looking thru the Index of Oxford Diocese Marriage Bonds & Affidavits and found the following;
Kench, Ben, widower, 21 a.u. of Charlbury to Higgs, Caroline Ann Higgins, 21, a.u. of St.Peter Le Bailey, Oxford. 27 Jan 1847 - (at end of row there are these references d.61 f. 342 but no indication what they stand for)
(a.u. usually only means that a party is over 21, and not that he is in his 22 year)
I don't have the register transcripts but hope this helps.

d.61 f.342 (preceded by MSS.Oxf.dioc.papers) is the individual reference or call number for that document which is held at the Oxfordshire History Centre.
a.u. is short for 'and upwards'

I have looked up the OFHS transcript of the St Peter Le Bailey marriage register. The marriage took place there on 30 January 1847. The full entry reads:
KENCH, Ben, f.a., widr, plumber, Charlbury, Oxon, s. Benjamin, carpenter
HIGGS, Caroline Ann Higgins, f.a., sp. Castle St., d Richard, farmer
Wit: Thomas STANLEY, Alice STANLY Lic
