Tracing the family of "John Kane and Rachel Thompson" they were married 6 Apr 1896 Christ Church Drumchose. John is the son of John Kane, Rachel daughter of Robert Thompson. They had 8 children 5 of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are Margaret Kane b. 13 Dec 1900 (Enogh), William 19 Sep 1903 (Enogh), Mary Jane b. 24 Aug 1908 (Enogh). The family resided in Protestant Street, BallyClose Street and Enogh between 1896 and 1911. I'm hoping that taking a look at this side branch to my main tree may help me uncover information on my Thompson family. Any insight would be fabulous.
All the best.

Wendl,
I think that ENOGH should read ENAGH.

Sorry Kinkerswell....just going by what is written on the birth/death certs of the children? says Enogh, Drumchose (lol, but then I could have read it wrong)...... thank you for your insight.....is it far from Limavady?

Hi,
Enagh was a townland to the south of Limavady. It has now been swallowed up by the town. If you use Google maps and enter Enagh Limavady you will see where Enagh cemetery lies.
I also looked at the 1911 census and noticed that Rachel Thompsons mother was also Rachel. There was a marriage in 1869 of a Robert Thompson to Rachel Livingstone in Derramore Presbyterian Church which is situated about 1.5 miles NE of Limavady.
