Title: McCOLL Family, probably of Hamilton
Post by: OAKLEIGH on Tuesday 03 June 14 00:37 BST (UK)
Many years ago I was handed a small suitcase of papers etc belonging to Ida Eise, the artist. I had never met her, but I seemed to be her only relative living in Auckland.  In the suitcase was a large packet of mainly studio photographs of people named Fiona Margaret, Evan Patrick and Craig McCOLL. I have no idea who they are, but I would like to hand the packet on rather than throwing it out.  Please come back to me with a private message if you can help.

Hello...

Using only the surname, if you search the Hamilton Council cemetery database you'll find a namesake who died in 1977.

Maybe contact the funeral directors, explain that you're trying to return family items and then ask if they have his death notice so that you can determine whether or not you've found the right family.

Or contact Hamilton Library and ask if there are any volunteer genealogists able to look-up a death notice

For what it's worth, his father(?) is buried in the same plot and he has a "Patrick" in his name. And the Marriages CD showed that way back in the fifties the father(?) married a "Margaret" ... not that that really means anything.

Regards
Beg

Dear Oakleigh.  This is probably weird but I was just by chance looking for some information on my brother and came across this.  I'm Fiona McColl and it is probably my family that you are looking for.  I realise that Jujne 2014 is last year but in the event you still have the photos I would love to get them. Otherwise not to worry.  Thanks Fiona
