Am researching the Fry family from Dorset. All lived in the Isle of Purbeck, mainly round church Knowle
Laura Kate (1883-1969) married Joseph Henry Newman, Emma Jane (1865-?) may have married Charles Denniss, William Fry (1831-?) married Mary?
If you have any connections with with family I would be happy to hear from you

I am researching Eva Hannah Fry who married William Henry Wells in 1885 in Wimborne Minster. They were my husband's great grand parents. I would like to know more about her family. She was born in 1867 ( approx). I am waiting for the marriage certificate to find out her parentage.

My Frys are Dorset - but from the other end! Chardstock and East Devon.
I am looking for a William Fry c.1771 married Hannah Mitchell, 1801, in Membury.
He died March qtr 1851 - Axminster district (probably Chardstock)
The 1841 gives both William and Hannah as 'Out of County'
LDS has given Ottery St. Mary and other research has thrown up Chardstock as his place of birth. Can anyone find out where this Fry was born for sure?
Thanks

My Eva Hannah Fry's parents were from Iwerne Courtney (Shroton) and I found a number of Fry' s listed in the Baptism records for this parish.
Her parents were John Thomas Fry (Baptized 1816) and Hannah ? from Sturminster Newton married c. 1847 and his parents were Thomas Fry married 1815 in Iwerne Courtney to Elizabeth Warr.
I haven't requested any copies of certificates as I am going there in April to do more research.

Due to the interest in FRY name in Dorset, there is a need to add a FRY thread at the Dorset-Ancestors site

Hi Zelley,
I was there earlier today, and found some information confirmed, so I joined, but haven't posted yet.
I have some scenery to design by Tuesday - but seem to be stuck here in front of the computer anyway!!

I have added a Fry thread and mentioned a few bits of info. including the Fry & Bacon marriage of post 1910
To help cook-up a great Fry thread, please make a quick comment to help prime the pump.
Be it Bridport, Poole or Purbeck Fry Families.
Although I likely do not have a Fry connection, I do have a MABB connection from pre 1800 in Dorset.

I have attached my Thomas Fry descendant report- Dorset based- Iwerne Courtney aka Shroton, Wimborne, and maybe a connection to Edmundsham. I have hit a brick wall with Thomas Fry b circa 1790 and married to Elizabeth Warr of Tarrant Monkton.
Can anyone help me go back further?
