Hi Everyone

I am trying to find a name.
Louisa Augusta Jones married Alexander Rae in Echuca in 1881
They were married at the bride's brother's house in Landsborough St.
It there any way to find out her brother's name ?

I do not know if you needed her birth, but the mother's maiden name may help in your search.

Do you have their marriage certificate? If they were married at his house he could possibly be a witness on the certificate.

The index shows that Louisa was born in London.

There were two JONES births at Echuca with fathers named Edward, and a registration in 1880 may have been the connection to Louisa if she had a brother named Edward with wife Elizabeth nee MATTHEWS.

WOW!!! This site is amazing. We had a blackout last night so could not check in.
Although my query still stands I have learnt a lot about the family I did not know so thankyou.
Willie Jones is my hubby's Great Grandfather.

Merlin: Thanks for the BDM references. I did not have Eliza Jones Nee Willmotts death so thankyou. I was aware of Willie Jones  2 marriages in Deniliquin but never thought that it may be the same person. Will be busy investigating that now.

Essie: Thanks for the info you found. I am not aware of a brother called Edward but you never know.

Raylen: I knew the family came out on the sea king. I wonder if the other Jones who travelled on it are related? Thanks for your help.

I found the first marriage in the Pastoral Times ( Deniliquin Local Paper). Definitely the same person as second marriage as Mr and Mrs A B Rae were in attendance listed as relatives.

Amazing how a little bit of info can link things together. 3 years ago when I first looked I did not associate the 2 marriages, I thought there were 2 Willie Jones.

Hello all,  I'm new here and have found this thread.  Charles Jones and Eliza Ann Willmott are my great great grandparents.  I have all the basic information about their dates of birth, the date and how they arrived in Geelong, details of their children (and sadly the death of so many of them).  What I am trying to find out is a bit more about them.  What did Charles do when they arrived in Geelong?
What was the cause of Eliza's death at age 42 - leaving 5 young children (the youngest only 1 year old).  Who raised the children - was it the two eldest Louisa (then 18) and Benjamin (then 17)?

Eliza Willmott Jones is my great grandmother - and none of the family remember my grandmother ever talking about her!

I realise this is an old thread, but thought maybe someone has found out more information.
