Title: isabella Graham, Middlesbrough
Post by: suebrew on Tuesday 27 May 14 11:20 BST (UK)
Hi all, I have had some great tips from you fab researchers so here goes . . . .
I am researching the Graham family from Middlesbrough, bit stuck on a few, starting with Isabella
Born 16 December 1927, Middlesbrough, mother Isabella LLEWELLYN father Albert GRAHAM.
this is the info I received from Middlesbrough workhouse recording her admissions to childrens home after her parents died;

dis        04/02/1942 to service
adm        12/02/1942 returned from service
dis        08/08/1942 to Municipal Hosp
adm        11/08/1942 from M Hosp
dis        26/12/1943 to West Lane Hosp
adm        06/10/1944 from employment
dis        13/10/1944 to work at York Blind School
adm        29/11/1944 returned from York Blind School
dis        23/04/1945 to service at Holyrood Orphanage
adm        04/06/1945 from Holyrood Orphanage
dis        04/08/1945 to Holgate Institution (Adult Workhouse)
its sad that the last record we have for her is admission to the workhouse. I cannot find any record of a marriage or death from Tees Valley Index.
I am still looking for her grandparents marriage; james henry graham b 1859 barnard castle to sarah ann Rhodes b 1858 Manchester (or cottesmore rutland, whichever census to believe!)
thank you xx

Possible marriage in Chorlton March qtr 1879 on FreeBMD vol 8c page 817. Two of the possible spouses are James Graham and Sarah Rhodes.

It's  possible  that    Isabella  never  married and  is  still  alive ,  1927   birth  would make  her  87  this December ,   your post  may be  amended  ,  as  RC  doesn't  allow   info  for  living  people  on  the forum  .  Maybe Electoral  rolls   for  Middlesborough  may be  of use  ,
