I am trying to find information on my grandfather's first wife, Margaret Lowrie Rae. I believe she was born about 1881 in Scotland. I have found their marriage record and as best that I can make out the hand writing it states that they were married on March 9, 1912 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. My grandfather is Henry Septimus Livett, born 1883 and was the son of Charles James Livett and Emily Morrison. It looks like Margaret's parents were John and Agnes (I can not make out Agnes' maiden name).
Henry and Margaret had one daughter, Agnes Emily Livett ( she went by "Nancy"), born January 1, 1913 in Montreal.
Margaret died in 1920 and is buried in Hawthorndale Cemetry in Montreal.
I found Margaret and baby Agnes on a passenger list returning to Montreal from Scotland in 1914.
If anyone can offer help I would very much appcriciate it. As far as we know there was no contact with Margaret's family after her death so we have very little to go on.

Hi
What results have you had on Scotlandspeople - are there no matching births or census returns?
This one might be worth a look if you have not already ruled it out

How sure are you of the birthdate - is her age consistent in all the records you have of her?
Was the marriage to Henry definitely her first (aged 31 would have been a late first marriage then- presumably you have checked that her surname is the same as her father's)?
Did either of her parents sign as a witness? If yes then that would indicate the parent had travelled to Canada so worth hunting down in passenger lists for more details.

Thank you for your response. I am not positive of her year of birth. I estimated it from her stated age of 33 on the the passenger list dated 6 October, 1914.
Neither of her parents signatures is on the marriage record. It sates that she is the spinster daughter of John. I have to admit that the handwriting is hard to read and John's last name almost looks more like Kerr than Rae, but I couldn't say for certain.
There are many census records in Scotland for Margaret Rae with father John and mother Agnes between the years 1880 - 1882 so I am having a hard time determining which would be the correct one.
