Title: Mary and Bedward Davies
Post by: Marie Davies on Wednesday 21 May 14 16:16 BST (UK)
My father in law passed me a Gedcom of my husband's family tree. These are the people he has for us in Wales.

Mary Davies
born about 1826 in Trefeglwys, Montgomeryshire, Wales
Bedward Davies
Born Jun 1831 in Wales
Married 1860

Their son
John Charles Davies
Birth Jun 21, 1846 in Wales
Death Nov 22 1905 in Brownville, Nemaha, Nebraska, United States

I've googled these names and dates and also looked them up in some of the links in the sticky post for this forum with no luck.

Can anyone suggest where to find out more?

Thanks
- Marie

Hello Marie,

Should John Charles' birth be 1866 if his parents married in 1860?

Could his father's name be Edward rather than Bedward?

Do you have John Charles in USA census with his year of birth and immigration year?

Family Search has this for 1900 in Brownville https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M3BX-VZS
The year of birth would fit with your post - 1846 but it says England and then the marriage year you give would be wrong. :-\

regards

Thanks for your thoughts, I think I need to work back from John Davies, because Mary and Bedward don't seem quite right with the marraige date. And I can't find them!

The person you found on family search is the right one, he married Amanda j King. If he arrived on the Colorado in 1869 it said he was from Wales. I guess I now need to find out just how many John Davies arrived in 1869 age 24 in case there was more than one.
