Just to clarify for others, are you are seeking Frances Hepworth born 1821 (as in your "Subject"), not 1921 as in your posting?

Also, just to be aware that you are pushing really far back in the context of what Irish records are available, so expectations need to be commensurate.
BTW, how did you establish the forename "Frances"? In the previous threads her name was "Fanny"?

A quick glance for Hepworth presence in Ireland brings back very few hits (eg. tithe applotment records, Griffiths Valuation, 1901/11 census records), I may be wrong, but it makes me wonder if you are on the right track ...
-
My apologies. i should have typed 1821. The reason why I put 'Frances' instead of 'Fanny' was that when I received her daughter's birth certificate. Her mother was down as 'Frances'.

I just followed the links above and was brought back to here :D
I'm with gaffy - not sure with this one. I know she says born Ireland but that may not mean the family are Irish. :-\
The witness at the marriage is Rachel Stubley. I can only find one living in Batley in 1841 1267/ 16/ 25
Also in Batley at 1841 1267 / 6 / 5 there is a John Hepworth 55 yrs a Woollen Weaver born in county with Margret 55 yrs b Ireland and Joseph 15 yrs b Ireland..
There may be no connection at all but you may want to look at the Hepworths.
Just seen a marriage of a Samuel Hepworth in 1838 - Batley, with a father John, clothier - the same as Fanny.

Irish Genealogy has some Hepworths living in Dublin around the 1820's

A Frances Hepworth Hinchcliffe died at 18 Cromer Terrace, Leeds on 28th October 1900.
This may be relevant:

See below.

Freebmd has a Frances Hepworth Hinchliffe under "Deaths Dec 1900", registered at Leeds, Volume 9b page 310, but the informed age is 50, I wonder if this is a mistranscription (ie. 80)?
See below.

Disregard my last two posts, this is Frances Hepworth Hinchliffe who was married to a Frederick Hinchliffe.
Who would have thought there would be someone with such a similar name? lol.
-
The surnames are probably very common in the area, gaffy.
It looks as though juneandalansugden has been online, so hopefully will come back with a comment or two re the Hepworths of Batley/Ireland.

I am very interested in this thread. I am a descendant of John and Margaret Hepworth of Batley mentioned here. Margaret was born in Ireland, although John was from a Batley family. I know of only 3 chn, all born in Ireland. Hannah b.c. 1813, married William Sheard in Batley, Samuel my gggf (long story) b.c. 1816 and Joseph b.c. 1824 ( have not been able to trace him after 1841 but he may have emigrated to US). Because of the ages of John and Margaret I suspected that they may have had other chn born in either/or Ireland and England. The marriage of Frances Hepworth ad Francis Hinchliffe is of interest because (1) Frances born in right place, right time (Hepworth a rare name in Ireland); (2) father named John, occupation clothier (3) name Frances, John's mother was Frances, not a particularly common name. The Hepworths appear to have returned to England between 1825 and 1835. No apparent close connection to either the Stubleys or the Akeroyds, but I will pursue this.

Wow - Thank you for that info which I have been looking for for some 30 years. While it looks like my Samuel (b.c. 1816) and Frances were not baptized I am delighted to have the births/baptisms of Hannah and Joseph. I have also tentatively grabbed the birth/death of an infant John in 1821 as no other Hepworth family seemed to have been having chn in Dublin at the time. I would have had no way of knowing about Frances as she was married by the time of the 1841 census so would have had no record in England. I have traced the Hepworth family back to 1750 in Batley when I hit another brick wall but happy to share any info I have. Particularly like to hear from the Hinchliffe descendants who would be my 3rd cousins. Joan
