Hello. I've just discovered that my family have moved across the border to Wiltshire and seem to have populated Garston.
I've looked online in all the usual resources for records but there do not seem to be any baptisms around the late 1700's.
Apart from visiting Swindon, can anybody guide me as to where I can look as I need a lead.
Many thanks

Hi jan,
I think you will find that the parish of Garston (East) is in Berkshire.
The Berks FHS have produced CDs of marriages & Burials which includes East Garston, All Saints
but I don't think the Baptsisms have bee done yet.
To see more their address is;
http://www.berksfhs.org.uk/cms/
Disclaimer - not associated with the BerksFHS but just a purchaser of their CDs.
This may avoid a wasted journey for you.

Are you sure that you have the right spelling. There is Garsdon in Wiltshire and in the 1851 and 1861 census there are Kaynes living there. The records will be held at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre, which is at Chippenham.

Sorry, my mistake, it's Garsdon in Wiltshire and they are Kayns.
Thanks for letting me know

Sorry, I seem to have added the "e",it is of course Kayns. They all seem to have been born in Malmesbury.
