Hello from N.Z. Would appreciate if anyone going to National Archives would be able to look at the following for me : -
Fleuriot & Pindar. Accounts 1708. C/6/353/6
Plaintiff: - Peter Fleuriot. Defendant : - Thomas Pindar.
Hope these all the details required. Much appreciated.........

Unfortunately this is likely to be a huge research task, not a quick lookup. ;)
The subject of these equity suits can’t normally be gauged at a glance. You have to read through most of the Bill, and sometimes also the Answer, to find out what it’s about. The documents will probably be on several large parchment membranes, each up to a metre square. Unless they have been stored flat (most haven’t), they will have to be extracted from a tightly wrapped roll of other membranes, unrolled carefully, and held flat for reading. Because of their size, they're difficult to transcribe at Kew, and it's often better to photograph them in sections and do them offsite. Assuming reasonable condition and legibility, the transcription may take several hours, perhaps days. As this particular case concerns accounts, there may also be extensive computations.
Depending on your level of interest, I'd suggest you ask TNA for an estimate for copying, and/or consider engaging a professional to photograph and transcribe for you.

Many thanks Bookbox for putting me in the picture as to what would be entailed in searching for
the equity suit of Fleuriot v Pindar. An endurance test I would not want to put anyone through. :o
I shall follow your advice and ask for an estimate from TNA.
Your help much appreciated......

If you had a date would that help to narrow down the number of records they need to plough through?
-
Afraid not. It's all in one document, dated 1708 (as above).

Thanks for that thought Carol but as Bookman says just the 1708 date :'(

Hi
I do sometimes go the Archives. I'm happy to look at the document(s) for you and photograph them if I can find the right bits. You can then decipher them at your leisure ;D
It will not be until next month as I'm tied up with work and family commitments at the moment.

Hello Gaie
A very kind offer indeed. Wonderful if you could find something for me when you have the time and would be much appreciated.
