Hi Everyone,
I have a relative named Louis Pique he first appears in Dover in 1815 but he was born in France around 1786. I do not know how he came here, why or where from. I'd also like to know where he was born. I would love to get further with this as he seems to have been a bit of a local celebrity in his time, or rather ahead of his time. He was apparently a veteran of the Empire for Napolean .
Thank you.

There's a Louis Pique on the 1841 census in Dover aged 55 a publican. He's born in foreign parts and his family is wife Ann 40, 7 Children Louis 11, Joseph 7 & Ann 2 all born in county.

Google is amazing - here's more about Louis - http://doversociety.homestead.com/LouisPique.html - even gives his wedding date to Ann Bartlett 30/05/1817 :)

Thank you.
There is an awful lot written about him which is great. To have pictures of relatives from this time is amazing. The thing I can't find is where he was born. Unfortunately for French genealogy I need to know where he was born as records are not kept by name.

Not sure if this might be useful - http://en.geneanet.org/search/?name=PIQUES&country=FRA&subregion=F31&place=Tr%E9bons&ressource=arbre :)
Pique family trees from the Haute Garonne area.
