HI All, I am looking for any information on Albert Graham who married Isabella Llewellyn. I have drawn a complete blank on Albert, so here is what I have . . . .
marriage certificate to Isabella. he is aged 20 and living at Thorpe Street Middlesbrough, father James Henry Graham. on this certificate he has the middle name Edward, although we have his death cert and his son Kenneth's birth registration he is only Albert.
death certificate 1936 from TB, informant wife I Graham, address 1 Ings Avenue Brambles Farm, his age is 39 at death.
Isabella died the following year from TB, now, the children that were orphaned seem to have been divided, Kenneth told his family that he was placed in an orphanage, we guess this could be Broomlands and are waiting a response back from Teesside archives to confirm.
we know for certain that Kenneth Graham joined the merchant navy and ended up in Australia, on two of Kenneth's registration cards his name is spelt Grahame, with an E, not sure if this is just a spelling mistake and what we are not sure of is Albert's history.
there are a number of Albert (Edward) Graham born in Middlesbrough but none seem to apply to our Albert as we cannot match them up with father James Henry Graham, in fact, I cannot find James Henry Graham in any census!
We have Isabella's history, and we have the names of Albert's children.
can anyone help?
many thanks for reading, sue

Have you checked out the people who witnessed the marriage - are there any family connections there?
Also, what jobs did Albert and his father have?
-
Final thought - have you looked for Albert's WW1 service record? That will list next of kin etc, and also distinguishing features. For example, an Albert Edward Graham of 6 Cooper St signed up when he was 19 years and 7 months, and was 6ft tall. He enlisted in January 1916 which would give him a birthdate of about June 1896 (I think!!)

hi thanks for your reply. yes, we found that record but it belongs to the other Albert Edward Graham, already disproved as has a different father.
witnesses are William Duncan and Hannah mcquade, already searched them and can find no connection.
he is a labourer and his father James henry is a joiner in 1915 :)

Hmmm, a conundrum!!
Have you checked for Scottish births? From what you have written, we don't know for sure that he was born in Middlesbrough.
-
no I haven't, just the England and wales on ancestry . . . . :)

Have you checked for Scottish births?
Close but not unfortunately :-\ There was an Albert Edward Graham born in Glasgow in 1897, but father Thomas, an iron driller.
Scotlands People www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk show 16 Albert Grahams born between 1895-1901. Two more with Albert as a middle name. Can't see that number of Alberts on the 1901 transcripts though, only three Alberts show there, born between 1895-1901. None seem to fit unfortunately.
Spidermonkey asked earlier...what were Albert and father James' occupations?
There is this entry in Ireland 1901 with a father James www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai000800996/ Also this one, for an Albert Edward, but father David www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai000714816/
