Hi,
I'm looking for the first marriage of John Crossley (1776/1786 - bef 1845). He married Ann Shifton on 29 Jan 1835 at St Clement Danes as a widower.
I have one possibility for an earlier marriage - but lack enough info to confirm it:
Name: John Crossley
Spouse's Name: Hannah Litherland
Event Date: 1820
Event Place: Longford, Derbyshire, England
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: M05549-2
System Origin: England-VR
GS Film number: 496705
Reference ID: 2:3CKMB8L
John was the son of John and Mary Crossley of Hollington/Brailsford, Derbyshire.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Oh dear.... doesn't sound like the John Crossley I'm looking for. No indications of Ashby de la Zouch in the family tree.
Thanks Carol!

The Longford Parish Records show no marriage for either John Crossley or Hannah Litherland.....neither of them were baptised there.....

Hello Cazo,
Having difficulty understanding your original post, sorry to be so thick, but wondered if
you could give a little more information.
If you know that the Parents of John Crossley were the John C & Mary Newham who
married 5.1.1769 Brailsford - Can you give info as to where John was Christened and when?
After his second marriage in St. Clement Danes - have you found him on a Census? if so
can you supply the details.

Hi Carol........I'm not disputing your marriage.if it is Crossley/Litherland its right......simply clearing the decks for Cazo. who offered an possible Longford Marriage.......which didn't happen......as Spendlove says the whole Post is misleading and Cazo seems not to know th name of the first wife at all..........and where is he from??
The only John Crossley i can find comes from lancashire.
Keep up the good work!!
Derek.
