Title: Any SAPSFORD Marriages in 1840's - Great Hallingbury??

Hi,

I've searched "England, Essex Parish Registers, 1538-1900." Index at FamilySearch for all SAPSFORD marriages in Great Hallingbury.

Of course the dates I want seem to be missing! I can find multiple births and deaths for this period, but no marriages.

Would someone be able to check and let me know if there are any SAPSFORD marriages in Great Hallingbury in the 1840's? I'm trying to work out if there is a gap in the index or in the registers themselves.

I've checked the known issues for these registers at FamilySearch and nothing is mentioned.

I don't want to pay for access to the registers if what I need is missing.

Hi Michelle

According to Phillimores Atlas, Great Hallingbury is in Bishops Stortford registration district. Also none of the marriage registers after 1837 have been filmed and transcribed by the LDS.

I did a marriage search at freebmd with Sapsford in Bishops Stortford (but not the exact parish) and there are only 16 entries. The freebmd entries are based on submissions to the General Register Office.

Have you had a look at each of these to see if you can work out which ones you are looking for? and using other sources work out where these 16 took place.
