Hi out there have hit a brick wall trying to find War Record of our Great Uncle.
This is the Details to hand....Owen Kavanagh...Born ...Millom...Cumberland 1879.

Died Seathwaite ..1904.    Had an Eye Wound  not much to go on i know but somebody Cleverer than me might be able to help,

hi Gortonboy,Thank you very much for quick reply keeping searching after i posted i found on Find my Past' without any payment this.

Owen Cavanagh this is a wrong Spelling should have been with a    K.

Number 6171  Loyal North Lancashire Regiment  47TH and 81ST  FOOT.

Now i need to find out where they served he would have possibly been in Military Hospital at Netley with his EYE WOUND   near Southampton.   Thank You .

hi,,he served from 9/10/99  - 30/11/99 at home,,,, 1/12/99 - 24/3/01 in Malta....25/3/01  to 7/5/01  at home.     invalided home  15/3/1901   so must have been injured in Malta.

All his records are on Ancestry. It makes interesting reading as it tells how an injury was sustained.
