Title: census lookup
Post by: Kibble on Saturday 12 April 14 19:54 BST (UK): Looking for Catherine Clapton Mills born c1866 Radford Worksop Notts, and later years in Sheffield Yorks
She died in Sheffield in 1962 age 94
Can't find parents or entries in other online sites.
Any census entries welcome especially 1871 presumably with parents.

Post by: SmallTownGirl on Saturday 12 April 14 20:07 BST (UK): Is Mills her married name - 'cos I can see someone with that name in 1901 and 1911 with a husband called Herbert, and a marriage between a Herbert Mills and a Catherine Clapton Garrett in Q1 1900 in Eccleshall B Registration District (vol 9c, p.368).

And I've now found a birth of a Catherine Clapton Clarke in Eccleshall B Registration District (vol 9c, p.289) in Q4 1867.

As she married with the surname of Garrett perhaps she was married before her marriage to Herbert Mills.
To clarify details it would be advisable to purchase the marriage cert of Garrett/Mills.

She was born 22 / 10 1867 she married Arthur E Garrett 5/6/1895 in Rhode Island . She married herbert Mills 22/01/1900 in Ecclesall Sheffield. Her dad was John Clarke - 1931 MARKET DEEPING, LINCOLNSHIRE and mother Elizabeth Mason - 1840 STAMFORD, Lincolnshire. I have both her original marriage certificates. Hope this helps
