Hi
Please could anyone look-up to see if James Thompson is registered as being remarried to Ann after the death of his first wife Jane in Dec 1880. James is living with his mother in law in Shorne, Kent - 1881 census, but then in 1891 still in Shorne, he has a new wife named Ann, but I can't seem to find a record for a marriage for them. James died 1898 and Ann died 1907 both buried in St Peter and St Paul Church yard, Shorne.
Any help much appreciated

A possible would be
Jul/aug/sept 1881
Tonbridge
James Thompson with an Annie Hodgskin on same page
Weddings were traditionally in brides parish. So she may not have been in Shorne before.
But as there are lots of possible marriages you really need a birth cert of one of the children of the second marriage to find Anns maiden name

Ok thank you for looking. Will look into getting a childs certificate then.
thanks again

If he remarried in Shorne you should find something in the online records of Medway Cityark

What an excellent website, thank you BearKat for bringing this to my attention, although hasn't helped with James and Ann. I know it will come in handy for many others. Do you know if there are any other sites like this for other areas?
Cheers

Images of many East Kent parish records can be found on Findmypast.
Images of Penshurst parish registers can be found here

There are many transcriptions available online. Have a look at the Kent resources board. Otherwise post a request for a particular parish on the Kent look-up request board to see if anyone can help.
