Title: Owens family Louth & Meath Ireland
Post by: macnjan on Monday 07 April 14 11:18 BST (UK)
I am looking for information about William Owens of Sligganstowne and Stonehouse 1712. He had 3 sons William, Thomas and Simon.
In particular an information about an Anne Owens born to Simon Owens and Mary Halpin, Julianstown, Nobber, Meath. Sponsor Mary Clegly. Baptised Church of Ireland Born 24 April 1826
and her twin
Anthony Owens born  to Simon and Mary. Witness Mary Clegly. Ireland Catholic baptism. Born 24 April 1826.
Simon later married Mary Hinds, St Patrick's Cathedral, Trim, 20 Sept. 1840. They had no children.

The name Simon in this Owens family possibly comes from a connection to the Wetherby family of Lurgan, Co. Armagh

Rev John Wetherby of Shankill parish, Lurgan had a daughter Ann Wetherby married 8 March 1718/19 in Shankill parish church Mr William Owens (junior son of William Owens senior of Stonehouse, Louth). Rev John Wetherby also had sons Simon Wetherby & Arthur Wetherby.
