Any event for Francis King born 1821 in Northfleet. Married Amelia, had 2 children. Clara Augusta and Charles. Thanks for any assistance. Would like to know more about him and his parents.

There is an online record of a marriage (1847) between Francis King, tailor, son of Francis King (a victualler) and Amelia Davis (widow), daughter of Thomas Franks (gentleman).

No, I believe he was a Captain on a ship or mariner until old enough. I think his wife was from Gillingham and that's where they ended up living. Thank you for such quick action. I would like to find out more about them....seems to be dead end every which way...must be looking in the wrong places!

Hi there.
In case you haven't seen this website .... it gives you access to parish records for the part of Kent that includes Gravesend and Gillingham. Look for 'parish registers online' down the left side. The records are not indexed so it is a bit of a hunt but well worth the effort to see actual images of the PRs.

In the 1851 census... it has a Francis, living 6 Church St Gillingham married to an Ann ?, children George, Lousia and Issac. His occupation is listed as a mariner.

I found them in the 1881 Census. Their daughter Clara Agusta is my great grandmother. Any more info on these people would be greatly appreciated! Sorry, I originally put him as being born in Gravesend but it is actually Northfleet.
