Please be patient, I'm only getting used to my laptop and trying to start my family tree. I'm looking for Comrie's born in Madderty,Crieff, Blackford. Some names I have are  John Comrie 1815-1900, his wife Elizabeth kennedy 1820-1900.   John's parents were James Comrie and Elizabeth  Kennedy,  no dates for them but they're named on Johns death record. Can anyone help please?

Just added a bit to my reply above as you posted - was John's mother also called Elizabeth Kennedy?  Seems strange that John married an Elizabeth Kennedy as well

            Sent you a reply but don't think you got it .I told you what it said on the certificate but don't think I should have, but yes  both John and James married an Elizabeth  Kennedy.

Hi

There is a John Comrie aged 25 living in Madderty in 1841 but the head of household is Catherine Comrie aged 55

Possible siblings also in same household - Helen 27 and Alexander 23

That's why I wondered about his mothers name being the same as his wife's.

I can't find anything on Family Search for Helen or Alexander to compare parents names

            Yes I have John aged 25 andCatherine 55, also a Christian Duncan age 9.   Later I have John Comrie age 34 as head, then spouse Elizabeth 30, then comes Euphemia 8, James 5, Robert 4, Elizabeth 2. also  we have  another Elizabeth Comrie 17, housemaid, and Archibald MCintyre 15, farmhand.    Much later I have Catherine Comrie age 68. and her grandaughter Christian Duncan age16. Can't work out who's who can you?

No I can't.  Only possibility is that Catherine was his stepmother but unless you can find baptismal or death records for Helen & Alexander to compare parents names - there is no way of knowing
