Hello,
I'd like to know where I can search (online) for a marriage between a British National and a woman from Malta, marriage celebrated in Constantinople, about 1860.
Any suggestion greatly welcome.

My british ancestor was Charles Hamilton of New Shoreham (born 1833, died in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1868), while my gg gm was named Consolata Caruana. They had for sure a daughter named Elizabeth, born 1863 in Constantinople; probably a son too, named Charles (as his father), who was born 1862 and died in 1899 in Odessa.
No more details known in my family.

i realize it's in area we had to walk at begin very strong uphills from the Galata Bridge to Istiklal Cadesi and then Taksim-place when we visited Istanbul. A really beautiful very old district with old buildings.
here´s the map for "Sen Piyer Kilisesi"(churchpicture left beside of map is another).
looks to be close to Austrian St.Georg College:

the adress for College shows Karaköy and this fits with "Galata" where the church is to find also, how to see on map. Yes and here the Confirmation: "Karaköy is one of the oldest and most historic districts of the city": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karak%C3%B6y
You feel there really like being in old times. ;)
Wow, i just found now this also. :)
