				Hi there

I'm looking for the family of Ernest Holburn B: 1882 in London who emigrated with his family to Melbourne (i.e. wife Alice and children Ernest Henry, Blanche and Alice) late 19th early 20th century.

 Any takers?

 Thanks

Do you have access to the Brighton Cemetery Register or is it online?

My access to the Brighton Cemetery register is at the State Library of Victoria which has a copy of microfiche in the genealogy room.

There are only 5 entries currently in the whole of Australia for HOLBURN in the telephone directory.  None in Victoria, though.

Regarding the marriage Fred Dawson and Blanche Freeman, could you tell me if there is a marriage for a Mr Freeman and a Blanche Holburn - if so it would explain a lot if it was a second marriage.

Have an unknown person on the Holburn's "4 generation" photograph called Ralph Freeman - could be her son from a first marriage.

 Thanks
 Mo

There is a marriage in 1921 for Blanche HOLBURN and a Mr FREEMAN.
Sorry, I don't have more access to VIC BDM, other Rootschatters can get more details of that marriage for you.

Thank you so much that solves that problem about the Freemans.

I'm so close to finding rellies "I can smell them"  :D

One last thing (I hope) for a clincher.
William Holburn B: 1851/52 in Sunderland, England - lived in London. (Carpenter)

He seems to have come over in 1922 to Melbourne and I have him buried in the Brighton Cemetery - died 31 March 1930 aged 79 with Ernest Holburn and Alice Holburn with all their details.

However, I need something else (anything) on William.  Where was he living (he doesn't seem to be on the Electoral Rolls at Beaconsfield Parade (then again maybe he wasn't eligible to vote).  A newspaper notice perhaps. Anything else would be brilliant.

 Here's hoping

Perhaps he had a Will probated

Have a look at the Australian Resources and then Victorian Resources at the top of the board.
