Hello,
I received an amazing present from my godmother today, her mother's medals! a 1939-45 War Medal and a Defence Medal. Plus a photograph of her mother in uniform.
It turns out she doesn't know very much about her mum's war service other than she drove an ambulance so I'm hoping some knowledgeable people out there can give me some information from this photo of her in (ATS?) uniform.
Thanks for looking!
Amanda

Her shoulder (EDIT: sorry meant sleeve) badge indicates Anti-Aircraft Command (1 Anti Aircraft Division).
Her breast badge is the Royal Artillery grenade,

hi amanda
also have a look here www.atsremembered.org.uk/ the site dedicated to the ats and as well you can apply for her service record go to www.veterans-uk.info from there you can download the necessary forms , it also tells you all you need to know about applying for them . if your godmother is the next of kin do it in her name otherwise if it,s done in yours certain info will be held back as you aren,t nok
hope this makes sense .
best wishes
trevor

I can't make out her shoulder insignia clearly but I don't think it is officer rank

Thank you Spikey68 ad t mo for the very helpful replies.
I certainly do appreciate the gift, I have my grandfathers WW2 medals and great-uncle's WW1 medals and my grandmother's SWB so this is a great addition to a family history collection that I really treasure and a great opportunity to find out more about a relative I never knew.
I'll definitely be sending off for her service record.
Thanks again!

Looks like the badge on her epaulette is ATS, in similar format to the cap badge.

Good afternoon,
Yes, ATS shoulder title. Her badges look like these 3.
