Title: St John's School Tunbridge Wells
Post by: mylines on Saturday 22 March 14 14:51 GMT (UK)
Hi, can anybody help me with a photo/school registers etc of the above school?  My Grandfather, Frank Avard, was a pupil.  He was born 1890.  The school is mentioned in a "missing" report in the Kent & Sussex Courier April 1918.  He was a PoW but that is another search!  The report says my Grandfather was well known in Tunbridge Wells.  He worked for Dr Lammiman and Mr R Benson-Jowitt as a groom.
Thanks for any help anyone can give.

There's a book about "St John's School. Into the Third Century"  published 2002

(I was there between 1961-1964 under Sydney Stolton)

It can be bought from Amazon.
