I believe my g.g.grandfather was an active freemason in Liverpool/ Birkenhead in the late 1800's and early 1900;s.
Is there any way I can find out more about him through the Freemasons and their archives?
Thanks in advance.

The museum & library are here
http://www.freemasonry.london.museum/
I was very successful with my freemason ancestors, the library gave me loads of information but it does cost if a family member is not a current freemason.
It also helps if you have a name of the lodge that he was a member of.

His name was William Jones. He worked very closely with his son in law Andrew Flemming Bancroft. I would assume they were both masons. They even shared a house with their respective families at one time.
He lived and worked in Liverpool and Birkenhead/ Tranmere.
He was a builder and at one time owned the Borough Road Brickworks until 1900.
He was born in 1833 (Hawarden, Flintshire) and died in 1906 , buried in Toxteth cemetery.
Any information would be amazing. Thank you for taking the time and trouble. :)

Very interested in this subject, currently trying to find out more about my grandfather's cousin.
Noted your link Dawn and have checked the website out. Only last week my employer was telling me to contact the library to ask for help.
I do hope you don't mind Jeannie, but have sent PM for your husband to look at if he's needing something to keep him busy. :)
