Does anyone have access to bishops transcripts - I have found my ancestors marriage on a well know site but most of the page is missing. I am looking to find out the 1st witnesses name as I am struggling to find out the parents of the groom. The marriage date is the 10 july 1803 Edward Joseph wallis

Oh boy Orchid, I've just looked at the image..what a mess :(
The first witnesses name looks to be Eliza H....? but looks to be the same name as the bride.
Second witness is John ....?
A little trick I found that might help in reading blurry images on Ancestry is to go to 'tools' in top right corner then click on 'invert colours'. This makes the writing white on a black background. It doesn't help in this case but might help in the future :)
Just bear in mind that witnesses are not necessarily parents,
Sorry I can't help with BT's :(

Thanks jane for having a look, I think the witness now is Eliza hooker the brides sister, looking through other pages all the second witnesses seem to be John ? So I don't think I will find the parents here

I've just had a look at the London Family History Centre (LDS) catalogue & the BT's for Christchurch start in 1807 :(
I know it's a long shot but have you checked the 1841 census?

The BTs for Christ Church Southwark are held at London Metropolitan Archives.
They begin at 1800. Those for 1803 are catalogued as DW/T/1121.
