Title: Hollings Yard, St Margarets, Leicester
Post by: durham48 on Sunday 16 March 14 19:37 GMT (UK)
Any help with the location of Hollings Yard, St Margarets, Leicester. Mentioned on 1871 census.
Had a relative lodging there in 1871 census. Also lived in Grosvenor Street.

:) Hi have you tried to look at the original 1871 census for Hollings Yard? If you had, it would have told you it was next to the "Painters Arms" and Victoria Street to its left and ? Hill Street to its right.

I had previously put on Leicester Look Up board. Thought I would try the general board.
I have found that the adjacent streets are Victoria Street and Lower Hill Street and "The Painters Arms" public house and these are all shown on the 1877 Map of Leicester.
Thanks to keyboard86 for the prompt.
